Leslie Ballard lived a privileged life. Her parents Les and Janie Ballard ran a successful printing business in Little Rock, Arkansas and paid for her master’s degree, her condo, her cars, and her vacations. Then she met and married Mike MacKool who was 23 years older than her!!!! He also had numerous ex-wives. It didn’t take Leslie’s parents too long to figure out that Mike MacKool (who was far from cool) was just using their daughter for her money. It didn’t hurt that she was quite attractive which for a dork looking guy like Mike MacKool has many people baffled what she seen in a loser like him.
Her parents eventually ended up supporting her less while she was married to Mike. When Leslie’s father died in his will she only received $25,000 of his multi million dollar estate. The majority obviously went to her mother.
Leslie and Mike then came up with a plan to kill Leslie’s mother. Believing that if Janie Ballard died within 30 days of her fathers death she would automatically inherit all the money. Which was false as Mike Mackool has issues reading and understanding.
On September 12th, 2003 Leslie went to her mothers home. She waited in the bushes with a wig and black face for almost 20 minutes until her mother came home. When she arrived Leslie stabbed her mother Janie over 70 times. Her throat had also been slit in what appeared to be attempt at decapitation. She also took a car, a coin collection, and jewelry to make it look like a robbery. She dressed in all black to appear like a black male, then dumped the get away car in a black neighborhood. As bad of an attempt as that was it was pointless as the police already knew of them as suspects the second they found Jeanie Ballard dead. Jeanie had told numerous people that she feared Leslie and Mike would kill her for her money.
Leslie and Mike were arrested for Janie Ballard’s murder. They were interviewed separately. Mike denied the whole thing, while Leslie admitted to the crime right away saying she was forced to do it by Mike Mackool.
While Leslie was cracking to the police and Mike was panicking in the hallway of the police station, he snapped and barricaded himself in a police interview room where he slit his wrists. The police had to use pepper spray to enter the room. (Should of left the tough guy in there).
She pleaded not guilty to a mental disorder.
Mike was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Bradley Martin (21) met Carolyn King(27), a married mother of 4, when he was working for a prison release program at a Candy Factory they both worked at. The 2 even had Conjugal visits. He was in prison for a parole violation. One day he went out on work release but never returned back to prison.
On September 25, 1993, police made a welfare check at the Lebanon County, Pennsylvania home of Guy Goodman, 74, a community-minded retired florist who’d not been seen in several days. Inside it smelt instantly of death. There was blood and pieces of broken glass all over the floor. In the basement the police discovered the decomposing body of Goodman. He had been strangled with extension cords and had a plastic bag tied around his head. He had been dead for over a week. There was no signs of a break in and 3 empty coffee cups on the kitchen table appearing like he had guests. His credit card and vehicle were missing. When police dusted the place for prints. A print of 21 year old Bradley Martin came up.
The police put out an APB for Martin and King not knowing if King had been kidnapped by Martin or left her family on her own will. When police questioned her husband he says he hadn’t spoke to his wife in weeks. Police also later found out that there was a connection between Martin and Goodman as Goodman mentored Martin in a program for troubled youth.
On September 27th, 1993 the police had found out that Goodman’s credit card was used in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and most recently South Dakota. The last point they found it used in was a hotel in Bismarck, North Dakota. At that place another person a tourist bus company worker named Donna Martz (59) went missing. When police found Goodman’s car abandoned authorities figured they were now using Donna Martz’s car.
On October 5th, 1993 A California Highway Patrol officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of Martz’s car outside of San Diego. When the officer got close enough to the vehicle he identified the people in the car as King and Martin. The chase ended when the car got into a little accident and the two were arrested. There was no sign of Donna Martz and neither of the suspects were talking. Later to save her own ass King of course claimed that she stayed with Martin as she feared for her life. Martin agreed with her and went along with her story. But police doubted she was unwilling as security footage showed her using the cards and checks by herself with plenty of time to escape or tell someone.
Eventually, Martin and King cooperated with police and drew a map of where Martz was shot. Her body was recovered and brought home to her family. What Martin and King did was lock Martz in her trunk while alive, then went shopping with her credit cards in Elko, Nevada, then drove her to the middle of the desert and shot her in the head.
Martin and King were both charged with kidnapping and two counts of first degree murder. They were brought back to Pennsylvania and awaited trial. On October 11, 1994 they were each found guilty and sentenced to death. Martin and Kingwere later resentenced to life without parole.
When Rachel Mullenix was only 16, her and her 21 year old boyfriend Ian Allen stabbed her 56 year old mother Barbara Mullenix to death in Huntington Beach, California on September 13th, 2006. Then dumped her body covered in a bloody blanket with a butter knife sticking out of her eye in Newport Harbor. She had been stabbed more than 50 times with 2 different knives .The most memorable thing about this case that I remember when they aired it on Forensic Files was that they stabbed her mother in the eye with a butter knife (which was lodged in her skull when she was found) and that they identified her mother by her breast implants. Fake boobs apparently are like rolex’s they track them. Good to know.
After the 2 dumped Barbara’s body in the harbor, Rachel and Ian started heading towards Tampa, Florida on Interstate 10. But here stopped in Louisiana. Officers pulled over Allen’s truck and then Rachel ran up to the officers claiming that Allen had kidnapped her and held her against her will. When the detectives split them apart and interviewed Rachel, they did not believe her story at all. They also seen surviellance of the two of them in a convenience store earlier that day. She had plenty of time to escape and moved around freely. She did not look like she was being held against her will on camera. She acted like she was Allen’s girlfriend.
Rachael Scarlett Mullenix- Rachel denied and denied and pointed all the blame at Ian Allen. He in favor did the same. Rachel’s father Bruce still believes that his daughter is innocent. Her and Ian both said the other killed Barbara but they admitted to cleaning up. Rachel also used her mothers alcoholism and abuse towards her as a reason to kill her. She basically couldn’t keep her lies straight.Rachael was born in Oklahoma City in 1989 – the only child of Barbara and Bruce Mullenix – and lived there until she became a teenager. She grew up with her half-brother Alex – Barbara’s son from a prior marriage.
After four days of deliberations, a jury convicted her and sentenced her to 25 years to life.
Ian Westleigh Allen- Ian and Rachel first started dating in May of 2006. At first Rachel;s parents did not approve of the relationship. But Rachael’s parents eventually accepted Allen — even giving him a written permission slip to show authorities that he was allowed to date their daughter, a minor. In return, she needed to abide by her parents’ rules, including a curfew that required her to be home by 1 a.m. On Aug. 31, Rachael didn’t come home. Her mother was frantic. She kept calling her daughter’s cell phone, but there was no answer. She drove over to Allen’s home. The teen was there, sleeping. Barbara dragged Rachael home – then grounded her from seeing her beau. A few days later, Barbara mother relented to Rachael’s pleas and allowed the couple to see a movie.
Allen was later also convicted of first-degree murder and received 25 to life.
Rachel’s half brother spoke out about the crime in 2020 saying that Rachel was a victim more than an aggressor. He also claimed about how controlling and horrible his mother was to life with. Hence why he left. The interview is HERE.
She was one of the most remarkable criminals in U.S. history. A housewife, she turned cold-blooded killer. In 1969 she escaped from a Mexican prison and disappeared without a trace.
Sharon Elizabeth Hall (Born- November 30th, 1939) is an alleged American multiple murderer. She has the longest current outstanding arrest warrant in Kansas City, Missouri and one of the longest outstanding felony warrants in American history.
Sharon Elizabeth Hall was born on November 30th, 1939 in Independence, Missouri. The daughter of an alcoholic single mother. When she was 16 she met 22 year old James Kinne at a church function and began casually dating in the summer of 1956. But James broke it off when he returned to Brigham Young University in the Fall. Kinne who did not want to be alone and wanting a partner who could get her out of Independence, Missouri wrote to James claiming she was pregnant by him. James dropped out of school and returned to Independence to marry Sharon in October of 1956. They claimed on the marriage certificate that Sharon was 19 and a widow, whose husband died in a car crash. Kinne converted to Mormonism and the pair got married at the Salt Lake Temple in Utah.
After the wedding the couple settled in Provo, Utah. James returned to studies at BYU and worked as an electrical engineer and Sharon babysat. Sharon claimed to have miscarried the first child (the false pregnancy one to lure James back) but was pregnant again and in the fall of 1957 gave birth to a daughter they named Danna. Sharon was a lavish spender and the two had a second child Troy and by this time Sharon was having an extra marital affair with a high school friend and now ice cream vendor John Boldizs.
By the start of 1960 James was strongly thinking about divorce. Not only because of Sharon’s spending habits, but he really suspected she was having an affair.Boldizs later claimed to police that Sharon offered him $1,000 to kill James of find someone that could.James told his parents he wanted a divorce and Sharon would give him one if he gave her the house, the kids, and $1,000. James parents devout Mormons were strongly against the idea of divorce.
On March 19th, 1960 20 year old Sharon phoned the police. Sharon’s 25 year old husband James Kinne was found dead shot in the head. With the couples small 2 year old playing right near his dead body with a gun in her hand. Sharon told police that she heard a gun shot at around 5:30pm where he was sleeping. Sharon along with neighbors claimed that James would let the 2 year old play with his guns often. So she must of accidently shot her dad. At first police could not disproved her story. So with the death of James being closed and called an accidental homicide. James was buried and Sharon collected the $29,000 in life insurance. She did not appear to be grieving in any way shape or form with her manor around others. With some of the money she went and bought a fancy blue thunderbird sports car off a car salesman and future lover Walter T Jones.“She wanted the salesman to leave his wife and his children and take care of her. She wanted him. In her mind, whatever Sharon wanted, Sharon got.” says an author of a book about her.
But a few months later on May 27th the body of 23 year old Patricia Jones (a local file clerk) was found in the woods by Kinne and her new boyfriend John Boldzis, while they were parked in a place called lovers lane. It turns out that Patricia was the wife of another one of Kinne’s boyfriends Walter T. Jones a car salesman who wooed Kinne. Walter had tried to break off the affair with Kinne right before his wife went missing. Kinne admitted she was the last person to talk to Patricia before she went missing. She was then charged with Patricia’s murder and then with further investigation that of her husband James.
Kinne went to trial for Patricia Jones murder in June of 1961. She was acquitted. In January of 1962 she went on trial for James Kinne’s murder. After going on trial 3 times for James murder (the last one ending in a hung jury) she was released on bond. She fled to Mexico in October of 1964 before a fourth trial could be scheduled. She went down there with her new lover Francis Peglise. The two checked into a the Hotel Gin. While there Kinne said she felt un safe in a foreign country and bought a gun there, along with ones they brought from the states. Then when she got to Mexico she killed a man named Francisco Ordonez. Sharon killed him in a hotel room where she went to look at pictures he had. She then claimed he made sexual advances at her. She claimed that it was in self defence. Shot in the back in self defence. Investigation into that shooting showed that the same gun that killed Patricia Jones killed Ordonez. She was convicted in Mexico of shooting Ordonez in October 1965. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Kinne escaped from the Ixtapalapan Prison during a black out in December of 1969. Dispite extensive manhunts she has not been seen to this day.
It is rumored she may have snuck into Guatemala, was killed right after prison, or is still alive somewhere at 81 years old.Maybe even up in Alaska where she has relatives.
Crimes:On July 18th, 2003 Christine Paolilla (17) and her boyfriend Christopher Snider (Both heroin addicts) entered a home in Clear Lake, Texas (Tiffany Rowell) and fatally shot 4 of her friends inside. The weapons they used were a 9mm semi automatic pistol and a 38-calibre revolver. It made national headlines in the US known as “The Clear Lake Murders”.
The victims in the house were Tiffany Rowell, Rachael Koloroutis, Marcus Precella, and Adelbert Sanchez. They were all shot multiple times. Koloroutis tried to call 911 and was repeatedly struck in the head with a gun by Paolilla. After the beating with the butt of the gun Paolilla apparently shot Koloroutis in the crotch. Police also stated that they noticed extreme overkill in the female victims.
An hour after the murders Snider drove Christine to her job at Walgreens.
The crimes went unsolved for over three years. Until an anonymous tipster who phoned in changed that. A man who Paolilla went to drug rehab with stated he met a woman there. This woman was braging about how she killed 4 people.
Christine Marie Paolilla (Born Mar 31st, 1986): Christine Paolilla was born in Long Island, NY. She developed alopecia at a young age which causes you to lose your hair. Which is hence why she has no eyebrows and wears wigs. She had poor eye sight and often had to wear thick coke bottle like glasses. She was born to Charles a construction worker and Lori a stay at home mom. Christine’s father passed away when she was 2 years old. She also had an older brother. At a young age her mother began abusing drugs and Christine and her brother went to live with their grand parents. Once her mother got clean and remarried Christine moved back in with her mother and moved to Clear Lake, texas which is a suburb of Houston.
Two of the more popular students at the school Rachael Kolorotuis and Tiffany Rowell befriended Christine in high school. The helped her improve her appearance and she was later named “Miss Irresistable” by her fellow students.
Christine was also known to be very jealous. Snider apparently even called the police on Christine several times. After a fight one night Christine spent the night outside of Snider’s family home. While doing so threatened to kill his family..
In March of 2005 Christine married a fellow heroin addict that she met in rehab named Justin Rott.
Christopher Lee Snider: Committed suicide in August 2006 from overdosing on pain killers once he realized that the police were coming to capture him for the murders. At the time he was at his parents house in Greenville, South Carolina. Police found his decomposing body in the forest near his parents house.
Capture:Paolilla and Snider split in 2004 when Snider went to jail for car theft. Paolilla entered rehab and met her husband Justin Rott.
On July 19th, 2006 Paolilla and Rott were in a hotel room in San Antonio, Texas when the police arrested her. Officers said the room was the grossest thing they have ever seen the room was full of drug paraphenilia and their was blood mist from syringes sprayed on the walls. There was 70 vials of heroin and over 100 syringes in the room when Paolilla was arrested.
Sentencing:On October 13, 2008 Paolilla was convicted of 4 counts of capital murder. Due to the fact that she was only 17 at the time of the murders she escaped the death penalty instead she got 40 years to life in prison.
Appeal:November 29th, 2008 Paolilla filed an appeal due to the fact that her court set her bail at $500,000 claiming the court abused its discretion.
Incarceration:Paolilla is currently at The Mountain View Unit in Gatesville, Texas. She will be eligible for parole in 2046.
